FAQ

  • What are the entry requirements?

    If you are a Pilot – you need to submit a copy of your licence, flight book with at least 200 hours of total flight time and a valid medical certificate. It is advised to provide your CV in order to check your background and level of expertise. OR just fill in this questionnaire.

  • How many days a week does the training take place?

    The normal training week in the United Arab Emirates is Sunday through Friday - 6 (six) working days. In the event that remedial training is required or classes are forcibly cancelled due to force majeure circumstances, AVIA LUX will cooperate with the Customer for a Saturday replacement to keep the program on schedule.

  • How many hours a day does the training last?

    The normal training day is of 6 (six) hours of Ground school instructions - 9am to 4pm. Simulator training can be of 1 (one), 2 (two) or 3 (three) hours a day per crew, subject to the group size and availability of the Simulator and instructors. However the schedule can be adjusted as per the Customer’s request and travel arrangements.

  • Do you arrange visas and accommodation?

    AVIA LUX Team takes care of all the arrangements that you might need – airplane tickets, visas, hotel accommodation, pick up from the airport, daily transportation, meals, passes to the training facilities, drop off to the airport for departure. MORE INFO

  • Can a recent graduate apply for the training?

    AVIA LUX is a type rating center, which provides training for current flight and maintenance personnel with aviation background in order to aquire necessary knowledge and skills to work particularly on Mi-17 (Mi-8MTV-1) and Mi-171 (Mi-8AMT) type helicopters.

    In order to apply for Mi-type training you need to have a licence and at least 200 hours of total flight time for flight personnel and at least 1 year of maintenance works for technicians on any other aircraft.

  • What is the duration of the training?

    The duration of the training varies depending on a type of the training and students’ level of expertise. MORE INFO

  • How many students can be trained at a time?

    Groups for the Flight training are advised to be formed in Full crews. AVIA LUX can accommodate up to 4 (four) crews at a time, subject to availability of Simulator and Instructors.
    Groups for Maintenance trainings should be formed of 3 (three) to 6 (six) people. AVIA LUX can accommodate 2 groups at a time, subject to availability of Helicopters for the hands-on and Instructors.

  • What should be the score to pass the final exam?

    Certificates of conformance are issued to students in case of successful examination results of not less than 75% of the total score.

  • Can I lease a helicopter from the Training center after my training?

    AVIA LUX Training center doesn’t provide helicopters for lease. However you can address your request to our partner AAL Group LTD. AAL Group is a multi-faceted organisation, supplying full spectrum of rotary wing aviation solutions – lease, repair, overhaul, modifications and spare parts – to satisfy Customers’ requirements.
